Save the world, Go Green advertisement

Taking a short break from studying
Well i m here to share some interesting thots

well at least it was to me.
while clearing my messy table filled with notes
I chance upon a leaflet that was left on my table
i think my maid left it on my table not sure why

alrite here is the main msg of the ad:
"Eat Veg, Go Green, Save the world"
As a past marketing student i wouldn't find the advertisement a good one
it was filled with words, words and words
Not very appealing
a beautiful whole lot of mess and info bombarded to the consumers or readers in particular
Ok i shant deviate from the reason why i m blogging abt this particular ad.

You see, when u are an environmentalist trying to promote human beings to save the world
Yet here you are printing these shouts out on paper
it was not just paper, it was on non recyclable papers, fully colored
how environmental friendly is this
obviously the first thot when i saw the ad, i didnt expect it to be an ad to ask people to go environmental friendly

Going environmental friendly again is not just simply by eating veggies
you can cook veggies
and yet not finish it and waste it by throwing it away, is tat a full go green advertisement
well in my point not well done at least
but causing more harm (by printing it out in such a way)

Then the thot came to me
i m drown by so much papers
if only one day everything can be sorted out soft copies
i took my exams online (one of it and i thot it was pretty environmental friendly because its HRM paper and requires an awful lot of paper, and waffle waffle waffle for pages that simply goes to waste after marking it)

but den again
if everything goes computerized
we are wasting alot more energy
the opportunity cost is to save an awful lot of tress
and that reminded me of wad i learnt in micro econs
a good question proposed to me in one of the text i was reading on externalities caused by producers
detrimental ones to be exact
the question is

" So is it when there is no pollution, there will be an no welfare loss, efficiency is achieved?"
Well the juice of it is
when there producers produce
they are bound to pollute
and the cost of consuming the product should be higher then then cost paid by consumer
The real cost of consuming the product or producing the produce is partially reflected by the price that is being charged
there is still cost of the damage done to the environment
There is a welfare lost even if producers were to set MR=MC
never mind if you don't understand wad i mean

but does this means that if producers dun produce
we are better off because there is no pollution
and there will not be any cost involved that we overlook?
no
because if they dun produce
we dun have things to eat, use, wear, etc
hees, i laughed to myself when i read tat illustration by the book
and i thot it make sense

there is no way we can achieve a full environmental friendly solution
but by reducing it in one way or another
perhaps we help in slowing down the deterioration of the environment
but not quite possible to safe the environment anymore unless we all become native again ! haha

So much for being environmental friendly today =)

Eve out
